We are proud to sponsor the documentary project

"Women Sailors on the Chesapeake Bay".

As a woman sailor and filmmaker I have pondered the idea of what our next project would entail. Recently I moved back on land after being a live-aboard for one year in the Chesapeake Bay area. Locating to the Annapolis area after the passing of my partner has been therapeutic for my family. Relocating for my mental health was the best thing I could've done besides the grief counseling.

As our team embarks on this new project with personal narratives of women who have sailed the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. Through interviews and personal anecdotes, viewers will meet a diverse group of women: from enthusiastic amateurs who have taken to sailing for the sheer joy of it, to seasoned professionals who have dedicated their lives to the craft. Each story is a unique testament to resilience, passion, and the determination to break free from societal expectations.

One example of one woman, recounts how she struggled to gain acceptance in a predominantly male sailing club. Her journey through adversity not only highlights her personal triumphs but also serves as a microcosm of the broader cultural shifts regarding gender roles in sailing and recreation. Other women share experiences of mentorship and camaraderie in their sailing communities, illustrating how they have forged supportive networks that empower future generations.

I have assembled an online campaign to raise money for the project.

DONATIONS will enhance our aim for various production costs, including equipment, travel, crew wages, post-production, and outreach efforts.

Funding plays a crucial role in nurturing this community.

As we look to the future, it is crucial to continue this momentum, ensuring that funding remains a priority for women’s sailing initiatives. With sustained support, more women will have the opportunity to learn, compete, and lead within the sailing community.

DONATIONS, to the fundraiser, share it thank you so much.
